Faster Fixed Wireless nbn® is here!

Live rurally? Enjoy faster speeds on Fixed Wireless nbn® this month!

We’re connecting more people with their worlds near and far by offering even faster speeds through our new Fixed Wireless nbn® plans.

In January, NBN Co launched a nationwide pilot program aiming to improve >248,000 Fixed Wireless Aussie homes and business’ nbn® experience. This required NBN Co to make changes to their network to enable the delivery of higher speeds for Fixed Wireless customers to experience better connectivity and performance.

With national upgrades to the nbn® network and new-and-improved versions of outdoor antennas, customers can now enjoy faster internet and better connection, with theoretical maximum attainable speeds of up to 400/10-40Mbps on the Fixed Wireless Superfast plan.^

What is Fixed Wireless nbn®?

A Fixed Wireless nbn® connection uses data that's been transmitted via radio signals to connect your business or household to the nbn® network.

This type of connection is most common in regional locations where the distance between premises is often many kilometres.

How does Fixed Wireless nbn® work?

Fixed Wireless nbn® requires an nbn® connection box and an antenna fitted at the premises. Your nbn® is then transmitted from a transmission tower via radio signals to your antenna, which connects to your nbn® box.

We've added two new speed tiers to our existing nbn® Fixed Wireless plans:

Fixed Wireless Speedy
Which has a theoretical maximum attainable speed of 200-250/8-20 mbps^

Fixed Wireless SuperSpeedy
Which has a theoretical maximum attainable speed of 400/10-40 mbps^

^ 200-250/8-20mbps and 400/10-40mbps are the theoretical maximum speeds attainable on these plans. Speeds attainable on nbn® fixed wireless services will vary due to factors such as nbn® cell congestion, weather, geography, line of sight to the tower, local conditions, vegetation, building obstructions, signal interference, the model of Network Termination Device installed at your property, the type and installation of antennas and the position and quality of Wi-Fi hardware. Actual speeds will be significantly impacted by congestion, particularly during typical busy periods (7-11 pm).
